Excellent Dish Soap

I first started trying out the “alternative” liquid dish soaps because the ones I were using were making my hands dry. So I bought a bottle of something that said “Orange Scent” on the bottle, but once I got it home I thought it probably should have read “Slightly Orange-Scented Dingy Liquid That Just Wishes It Was Soap”.

I kept trying, and eventually tried the Seventh Generation soaps, which I think are just OK. They’re not fabulous, but they smell decent and clean fairly well, and the price is usually reasonable. Also, if you’re looking for a hypo-allergenic soap, they make a scent & dye free version called “Free and Clear”, which is a good solution for people with allergies.

And yes, we all know that Mrs. Meyer’s soaps, like all their cleaning products, make you wanna bathe in it, maybe put it under your pillow, it’s that yummy. The lemon verbena is heaven, and my friend uses the geranium scent, which after I smelled it I decided I could finally die happy. But it’s, like, $$$$$!!! What’s a girl to do?

So I’ve found a happy medium: my beloved Ecover dish soap. It comes in two sizes, and it smells sort of gingery, in a good way. The packaging design is clean and simple, so you wouldn’t be afraid to display it in your kitchen. It’s one of the cleanest smells I know of, and I just LOVE the way it works its magic in the sink. It’s like real soap! But completely biodegradable! And how can you not love a company that has a full ingredient list on the product page?

I actually use Ecover products quite a bit, I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about the company later. If you’d like to read more about Ecover, you can visit them by clicking here. Sidenote: If you visit the Promotions tab, you can sign up to have them send you coupons. I just did it, so I’ll let you know how it goes.
