I’ve always wondered why companies who sell organic clothes haven’t figured out how to make them look nice. I mean, a hemp sack with a raffia belt must appeal to someone somewhere, but it strikes me as odd that all sustainably-minded clothes resemble either a bag or Hammer pants.
So I applaud Loomstate, a clothing company who believes that clothes made from organic cotton can look just as good as everything else in your closet. The company’s mission states that “through the use of the best quality 100% cotton, grown free of pesticides, herbcides and synthetic fertilizers, we are focused on making beautiful clothes and supporting organic farming – an industry vital to the welfare of the planet.”
I think Loomstate mostly makes jeans, but they also make t-shirts with cute prints and other denim pieces. If you’re interested, the line is on sale at Greenloop. I personally like the denim jacket, which validates my belief that yes, organic fabrics can look good!
