I recently received an email detailing some price increases on a selection of Pangea’s line. These price increases will take effect on February 15. If you use Pangea’s products, you should stock up while you can still get them at the lower price.
Here are the items that will be more expensive starting on the 15th:
-Bar Soap: from $7 to $8
-Facial Cleanser: from $19 to $23
-Facial Toner: from $17 to $23
-Facial Cream: from $26 to $29
-Facial Mask: from $27 to $31
-Massage & Body Oil: from $20–23 to $25
As you might notice, some of these increases are rather large (six or seven dollars). Also, the company’s newest products are included in the price increases, which makes me wonder, why didn’t they just debut the products at the higher price? Were they trying to get us hooked on the product before they socked it to us?
The email explained the cost increases as being due to higher cost of raw organic materials and freight charges, as well as a dwindling supply of some of their ingredients. I understand that these are common issues in organic retail, especially when a company is so gung-ho about having the purest ingredients possible in their products.
Still, I don’t feel very good about paying more for a product that I already have to mentally justify to myself when I buy it. I don’t understand why they didn’t make their new products higher from the get-go, and make their margin high enough that it would cover any losses from their more established products.
Regardless of what you think about the paying the higher prices, it doesn’t negate the fact that you can still stock up at the lower prices until the 15th. If you’re a Pangea lover, take heed of the price increase date, and use this knowledge wisely.
