Lately I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather, and when this happens I switch from coffee to green tea. The way I see it, if my body is busy battling a bug, then throwing my usual massive dose of caffeine down my gullet every morning probably won’t help anything. So, rather than work against my immune system, I turn to Traditional Medicinals for a more healthful beverage.
Traditional Medicinals makes the best green teas I’ve ever found. Of course, I haven’t tried importing tea directly from China, which sounds like a hassle. How would I find it? Where would I store it? It’s much easier for me to buy these delicious teas which are sold, well, pretty much everywhere.
I really like the Green Tea with Ginger, but the Golden Green Tea is my enduring favorite. It’s light, it’s flavorful, and it doesn’t have any of that “fishy” taste I sometimes detect in lesser green teas. All in all, it’s a pretty solid staple.
For those of you who can’t stand the thought of hot tea in the summer, try the Green Tea with Ginger over ice. It’s a perfect compliment to a light stir-fry, or with lunch. Or, even better? Use it to make sun tea! Place a few tea bags in a clear container in the sun, wait a couple of hours, and enjoy the fruits of your (minimal) labor. Oh yeah, you should probably cover the container while the tea is brewing, because I can’t personally vouch for the flavor of bug tea. That would be gross.
