I just got a press release in my inbox about a film called “King Corn”, which deals with the production of corn in Iowa and its greater impact on the American diet. If you’ve read Omnivore’s Dilemma, you’ll definitely want to watch it, since Michael Pollan was an advisor to the filmmakers and his voice can be heard throughout the movie. I haven’t seen it yet, but it opens in both San Francisco and Berkely on November 2, so I’ll make sure I catch it in one of those cities once it’s playing. If you’ve already seen it, drop me a line and let me know what you thought.
To find a city near you where “King Corn” is playing, go to the movie’s website and click on “In Theaters”. You can also read more about the film, watch the trailer and read reviews, or read the filmmakers’ blog.

Thanks Kerry! I live in Iowa and didn’t even know about this documentary. But I also see they aren’t even screening it IN Iowa?! I’ll have to wait, I guess. Thanks for the heads up!

You’d think they would screen the movie in Iowa, wouldn’t you? I didn’t even think about that when I glanced over the list of cities where it’s playing. They did show it to the farmers involved in the film, so at least that’s something.

I wish it was playing in Houston!
