Two weeks ago I asked you guys to fill out a survey that was all about the Sustainable Scoop Online Store. (It’s still open for votes, by the way.) I’d like to write about the results, because ultimately what I carry in the store should be the stuff that you’re interested in. As of today, here are the categories you chose, in order of the most votes:
Women’s skin care: 15%
Modern paper goods on recycled paper: 14%
Food-grade beauty products: 13%
Reusable lunch containers and bamboo-ware: 11%
Healthy cooking oils: 9%
Wildcrafted herb products: 9%
Beautiful handmade soaps: 8%
Indulgent bath products: 8%
Products for men: 5%
Other: 3%
Out of that “other,” there were several results. I asked you to write them in, so they’re all different. The number one write-in had to do with organic/eco-friendly/biodegradable cleaning products. Apparently you guys love to clean. Sustainable clothing and accessories came in second, and the rest vary widely, from natural pet foods to teas and coffees to essential oils. (To view the full results, go to the poll link above and click “View Results.”) Someone also had the idea of offering recipe cards based on my Monthly Meals, which I thought was a pretty good idea.
Thanks to all who took this poll for taking the time to give me your thoughts and feedback. I would love to have all of your great suggestions on offer in the store; hopefully, someday I will. For now, I’m going to focus on those things that you seemed the most interested in. Once I get the store going, I’ll add more products, and expand my offerings as I can. I’m renting some space in a certified organic warehouse, so everything you buy from the Sustainable Scoop Online Store will be stored in and shipped from a clean, moderated environment. The store is for you guys, so if you ever have a thought or opinion you’d like to share, please don’t hesitate.
***While I finish sorting out the details for the store product offerings, there is some good news that I’m really excited about. The very first product is almost ready for sale, the new Sustainable Scoop Shopping Bags! I’ve been hard at work to produce an organic cotton grocery bag that’s been printed with eco-friendly screen-printing methods. Hopefully these bags will be available by next Monday… Make sure you get some in time to do your Thanksgiving grocery shopping in sustainable style.***
