After yesterday’s post in which I tore into Batter Blaster, I realized that I couldn’t deny you the above video. I can’t believe the company actually paid for it. At best, it makes the product seem like a SNL joke. Does making your potential customers question the authenticity of your product qualify as a good branding exercise? I guess it might, if your customer base counts among them those who would buy pancake batter that sprays from an aerosol can.

Awful. Not only does it sound like the announcer is reading a script, but it looks like glue. SICK.

Ick! Are you kidding me? As a musician’s wife, I must say that jingle is awful, too.

But I said “ick” to watching them squirt Batter Blaster on the griddle.

I’m guessing this frightening product is aimed at people who want to be trendy and “organic”, but who have ZERO cooking skills, and an inability to read/follow a recipe. I envision some poor single guy who wants warm fluffy pancakes “like mom used to make” but whose cupboards only contain the ingredients for making beer-ramen. No need to search the store for actual ingredients (not that he’d find them since he’s never ventured out of the beer and chips aisle). He can just snatch up a can of Batter Blaster and pretend to cook!
