GUEST REVIEW: Method oMop (Sweeping Easy)

I completely understand Kerry’s issues with Method products. They seem too good to be true, not to mention they are very evasive about their ingredients. And yet, they are so darn accessible at every single Target near me! I live in the ‘burbs. The closest Whole Foods is 20-30 minutes away, and that’s without any Houston traffic. Every so often I’ve used Method products to tide us over in an emergency; laundry soap, for instance.

While I’m divulging secrets here, I should be completely honest. I keep two Method products in our home at all times, and I’m 100% satisfied with both: the oMop and compostable sweeping cloths. See, we have bamboo floors in three rooms downstairs and they get dirty quickly - dust, cat hair, dirt from outside, and so on. The person who invented Swiffer was pretty genius. Well, except for the part where Swiffer cloths are a form of petroleum-derived plastic. The person who invented the oMop and compostable sweeping cloths was wearing a real genius hat - good design and sustainability combined.

For one thing, the oMop is ergonomic, curved just right to make sweeping easier than the straight Swiffer contraption. You can apply more pressure to the oMop with less effort. You can even flip it over to easily sweep under your couch. And, the compostable sweeping cloths are made of corn. So, sweep your floor and simply place the cloth in your compost bin. The cloths also utilize microfiber technology so they don’t just shift the dust around; they absorb the dust using texture & electrostatic “magic.” What’s not to love? I even use these cloths to dust by hand and one cloth takes care of 2-3 rooms in our house.

These brilliant cleaning agents make me wish that Method could be equally forthcoming with all of their products. They are listing some ingredients now, but the list still doesn’t do it for me. However, I do applaud Method for the oMop and compostable cleaning cloths, and I encourage them to move in this direction - truly natural - and no need for reluctant ingredient lists.

I’ve seen these at Target and have wondered how well they work. Thanks for the review! I think I’ll get myself one and get rid of my crappy swiffer :) Thanks again!
