This past Saturday I was privileged to go on a hike led by Hall Newbegin, president and owner of Juniper Ridge, one of my favorite companies of all time. The purpose of the hike (besides, well, hiking) was to listen to Hall talk about native plants and wildflowers that grow on Mt. Diablo, which is roughly 30 miles east of San Francisco. The hike was great, I had a fabulous time, and I am unbelievably sore. Seriously, this morning I caught my reflection in a window in our house as I walked by it, and it looked like I was wearing an Edgar suit.
I’ll be posting more about the hike tomorrow Wednesday, including photos. Today I’m catching up (and recovering), so check back tomorrow for the goods on this excellent trip. If you’d like to read more about Juniper Ridge’s past hikes, check out the company’s blog, The Wildcrafter.

I haven’t been on a hike since I was little, so I’m a bit jealous! Sounds like fun. I love J.R., too - addicted to their incense, as you know. Piñon yesterday, sweetgrass today….
