FAQ
I get lots of emails from people, and some of the questions are the same, over and over again. So, I’m laying it all out here for you. Hopefully this will answer some of your questions; if not, contact me!
Can I send you some samples?
That depends. Does your product suck? Then, no. But if you have a great product that you know I’d just love, then contact me and we’ll work out the details. Please note that I am in no way obligated to give your product a positive review, or to review it at all. That said, if you really stand behind your product and think it’s amazing, I’ll probably like it.
I love your site, can we exchange links?
Flattery will get you almost everywhere, but it won’t get you a link on the Scoop. Each and every one of the links in my sidebars take readers to a site or a company that I love, and I don’t add links very often. Please feel free to let me know that your site exists, sometimes I don’t have the time to find cool new stuff that I really would like. Just don’t be hurt if I don’t include your site in my links bar; I’m choosy. Keep sending the flattery, though.
I do PR for (fill in the blank), can I post about them on your site?
Um, no.
Do you think that organic milk/produce/meat is worth the extra money?
Yes. And if you can’t find organic, look for goods that are hormone-free, herbicide- and pesticide-free, non-GMO, fair trade (when applicable), and as minimally processed as possible. But don’t just take my word for it. If you have questions about a company or its products, give them a call. It usually doesn’t take much time, and you’d be surprised at how much speaking with someone over the phone will tell you. Are they upfront and knowledgeable? Or are they shifty and incapable of answering your questions? A conversation is worth… well, a thousand words.
Your last name is Robb, are you related to Walter Robb?
Yes, Walter is my father-in-law, I’m married to his oldest son, Ted (who has also written on this site). I’d like to disclose that Walter is the Co-President and COO of Whole Foods Market in the interest of transparency. However, my family relationships have little to no impact on what I write here. I receive no sponsorship from Whole Foods, just my family’s love and support.
Where do you host your photos?
Flickr rocks.
Is your writing licensed?
Funny you should ask! Why, yes, it is! I’m a big fan of Creative Commons, so everything written here is licensed with them. Click here to check it out.
