My interest in natural foods and sustainable living began when I met my (eventual) husband in college. He was raised with holistic ideals regarding food and the environment, concepts that were totally foreign to me back then. My interest was piqued, so I began my journey to a green lifestyle, one small step at a time.
It has taken me several years to gain the information I have on different products and companies within the natural products industry. This info has been hard-won by buying different products and trying them out, talking to other consumers about their opinions, and getting answers to questions by speaking with people at various companies by phone and at trade shows.
My husband and I walk the talk, so to speak. We buy almost exclusively organic products, we recycle or compost nearly everything we discard, and we make our buying decisions based mainly on environmental and health impact. But here’s a little secret: We also factor in value. We’re a young couple in Northern California, trying to make a living and survive. We’re walking proof that yes, you CAN buy organic and sustainable products WITHOUT breaking your hard-earned bank.

I love good food, my husband Ted, walking my dogs, reading, listening to music, sleeping, Wes Anderson movies, David Bowie, Bill Murray, The Daily Show, caffeine, shopping, swimming, and good design in all its various forms.
MY OTHER LIFE
I’m a graphic designer by trade (see my perpetually-unfinished design blog here). I earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Pacific in 2003. The program gave me a solid foundation in print design, which I adore, but most of my work is now on the web. Ah, the internet… Thanks, Al Gore!
Kerry Trivia: I played classical piano for twelve years before entering college as a piano performance major. I switched after a semester (of hell), but my classical training has always stayed with me. I’m also addicted to this game called Text Twist, I kick ass at Wii Tennis, and I basically DIE for air hockey. I’m a nerd on soooooo many levels.
